How To Delete A Story From Instagram

Instagram story is a great feature for its users If you shared a wrong story or you want to delete something which you have posted to the Instagram account Stories, here are some steps below to follow:

How To Delete Photos And Videos From The Instagram Stories

Step 1: Choose Photo/Video To Delete

First of all, click on your Instagram Stories and, then tap through to the photo or video that you want to delete.

Step 2: Click On "More"

Click on the three-dot "More" icon which is shown at the bottom right of your screen.

Step 3: Delete Your Story

Finally, click on "Delete" option.

Step 4: Confirm Your Delete Action

Here, a dialogue box will pop up asking whether you want to delete the photo or video. So here click on "Delete" again to confirm.

Note: If anyone happened to be viewing the story while you deleted it, it would not disappear from their screen right away, but that person would not be able to view it again after that.

How to delete Stories from an archive

Instagram user story is no longer live, so that it will appear in user’s archive. Stories in a user’s archive are not viewable by other users unless that user posts them as a Highlight on Instagram.

So, If you still want to delete that archive story, here are some steps that you have to follow:

Step 1:Go To Profile

First of all, from your profile, click on the menu which is in the top right corner.

Step 2: Select "Archive" Option

Now click on "Archive" option.

Step 3:Select Story To Delete

Here, click on the Story which you want to delete. Then click on the three-dot "More" icon which is shown at the bottom right of your screen.
Now click on the "Delete" option and then “Delete” again to confirm it.

How To Delete Saved Stories

Instagram user saved their Story as a Highlight on his profile and he/she wants to remove that, here are some steps to delete the saved stories:

First you have to go to your profile section and find the Highlight you want to remove.
Now click and hold the Highlight.
Here in the menu that pops up, click on the "Delete Highlight" option.
Then click on "Delete" again to confirm this.

So, when you delete a Highlight, then it will be removed from your profile, but the Story will remain in the archive. So, If you want to delete that story from the archive, then follow the steps which are shown above.
