Facebook Business Manager is a Facebook tool for business that helps you organize and manage your business. When you create an account with Business Manager, colleagues can't view your personal Facebook profile unless you accept their friend requests. Your colleagues can only see your name, work email address, and the Pages and ad accounts you have access to.

You will need a Facebook account to create a Business Manager account. You can use your Facebook username and password to log in to your Business Manager Account. It is a more secure way to log in than with just your email address and password.

Note: You can create only two Business Manager Accounts. If you need more than two, please work with someone else in your organization to create more Business Manager Accounts. Before you begin, Remember that you have a personal Facebook profile to confirm your identity.

How To Make A Business Account On Facebook

Step 1: Add People to Your Business Manager

Add more people to your business and allocate them permission to assets in your Business Manager. These are the steps for adding individual people to your Business Manager, they must be not partners. They may be from other businesses.

  • Only Admins can add people to your Business Manager.
  • Don't add people to your Business Manager if you don't know them. Scammers can create fake business accounts in an attempt to manipulate people and businesses. If you are unsure that a request is authentic, contact them in the real world to confirm they initiated the request and that you’re comfortable adding this person to your Business Manager.
  • Facebook never asks for access to a Business Manager. If a business that claims it's Facebook asks you to add them to your Business Manager, it's not a legitimate request. We recommend you deny the request and report it to the authorities.
  • Third-party businesses can't get you verified: If a business claims it can help get your business verified on Facebook and wants you to add them to your Business Manager, it's a scam. We recommend that you report it. You can only complete business account verification through the Business Information section of your settings. It’s never requiring any specific person to have access to your Business Manager.

Or, switch on admin access to allow them to manage the asset and perform all available tasks. You can add more people to multiple assets on this screen by repeating this step.
  9. Click Invite.

Step 2: Add A Page To Your Business Manager

If you want to add a Page to your Business Account, you can manage your Page's activity with a tool. Adding a Page to your Business Account means you are claiming your business owns that Page.

Note: The process of adding a Page to your Business Account is not the same process as claiming responsibility for a Page. You have to go through the business verification process to do this.

  • You must have a primary Page to request access to or add another verified Page.
  • To add a Facebook Page to your Business Manager Account, you must also have been an admin on the Page for more than seven days. If you are not an admin on that Page, you will have to request access to that Page.
  • You must be an admin in the Business Manager.
  • The Page you're trying to add can't be owned by another person or business. Each Facebook Page can only be owned by one business Profile. If you want to add a Page you don't own, Page's owner can transfer ownership of the Page to you.
  • If your Facebook Page is linked to an Instagram business account, you should also add your Instagram business account to your Business Manager Account.

How To Add A Page To Business Manager

Here are the steps below to add a Page to your Business Manager Profile:

  1. Open Business settings.
  2. In the Business assets section, click Accounts. Then, click Pages.
  3. Click Add in the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Add a Page.
  5. Enter the Facebook Page name or URL.
  6. Click on the "Add Page". Now, you will see your Page on the next screen. Where you can add people to manage this Page.

Note: Once anyone who had access to the Page before it was added to Business Manager Account will still be able to access and manage the Page.

Step 3: Add Ad Accounts In Business Manager

In your Facebook Business Manager Profile, you can add Your own Facebook ad accounts and get access to ad accounts that other people or businesses own. In the Ad accounts section of Business Manager settings, you will see ad accounts that you own and ad accounts that are owned by others and that you have access to these.

If an ad account is owned by another person or business, you can see the name of the person or business who owns this ad account listed below the ad account name. If you own the ad account, you won't see more information. You can filter it by Advertising for self, Advertising for a partner, Owned by self, Owned by partner, Active, Disabled, or Closed.

There are 3 ways to add ad accounts to your Facebook Business Manager:

  1. Add an ad account: Adding an ad account moves it permanently into Business Manager. You must have both an ad account and an admin in Business Manager to add the ad account. Please remember, once you add an ad account and it's moved into your Business Manager Profile, this action can't be reversed so be careful. All management of your Facebook ad account must be completed within your Business Manager profile. You can't add an ad account that's owned by another Business Manager Account. If you still want to work on an ad account that's owned by a different business Manager, you can request access to it.
  2. Request access to an ad account: If you request access to an ad account in Business Manager, the admin of that Business Manager can grant you permission to work on it.
  3. Create a new ad account: If you create a new ad account in Business Manager it will permanently belong to that Business Manager. Once an ad account is created with a Business Manager Account, the ad account can't be transferred to an individual owner who doesn't own a Business Manager Account.

Conditions To Fulfil

You cannot add an ad account to your Business Manager if:

  • The ad account you're trying to add has already been added by another business. An ad account can only be owned by one Facebook Business Manager but, you can send a request for access to the ad account.
  • You have already added a personal ad account to Business Manager. You can only add one ad account from your personal Facebook account to your Business Manager Account. Alternatively, you can create a new ad account in Your Business Manager Profile or you can request access to another ad account.
  • You've reached your ad account limit for adding new ad accounts to your business. There is currently no available option to request access to more ad accounts owned by other people. The ad account limit increases based on your advertising spend.
  • The ad account is a prepaid ad account. Prepaid ad accounts can be added to Business accounts only if they are from specific locations.
