MS Excel provides many ways to enter data in a spreadsheet or worksheet. Users can enter data in an Excel worksheet/spreadsheet in a single cell at a time or more than one cell at a time. Data that is entered in cells of Excel can be text, numbers, dates, or times. Excel provides data formatting as well so you just need to adjust or modify some of the settings to make easier Excel data entry.
Here mentioned below top 7 ways to enter data in Excel.

Excel Data Input

Excel Data Input makes your work more efficient or easy in your day-to-day work.

1. Cell Edit Mode

Excel provides a simple or common way to enter data into a spreadsheet Excel simply clicks on a single cell and starts entering the data. The cell which you select automatically turns into an Edit Mode but when you select a different cell or clicked enter then the data you entered into the cell, remains in the cell and the edit mode exits automatically.

After some time when you clicked on the same cell again and start typing then the new data will override the previous data or the data already exists in the cell.

So, if you want to edit the data of a cell without deleting the existing data of the Excel cell then you just simply need to put the cell into edit mode before you start to enter new data into the cell with existing data.

Follow the below-mentioned steps to enable Edit Mode in Excel on a particular cell:

  • Double click on a cell in the Worksheet of Excel, Or
  • Click on a cell (you want to edit) and then either click in the formula bar available at the top or Press F2 in your keyword.
